Jaime R. DeLuca joined the Towson University Sport Management faculty in the Department of Kinesiology in 2011. Dr. DeLuca’s teaching and research interests include both the management and socio-cultural aspects of sport. She is passionate about preparing students for careers in the sport industry and works to help students translate classroom knowledge into professional practice. Dr. DeLuca’s research related to sport sociology explores the intersection between social class, embodiment, and the familial experience with sport and physical activity through qualitative inquiry. Dr. DeLuca’s current research, Postpartum BODIES [Behavioral Observation of Diet Image & Exercise Study], investigates the physiological and sociological aspects of postpartum recovery and physical activity. Her work related to sport management focuses on student experiences in sport management programs, with particular emphasis on how diversity, equity, and inclusion subject-matter is taught in the classroom and its impact on student learning pertaining to these important competencies.
