Dr. Caples has extensive experience designing, developing and teaching online and face-to-face courses utilized advanced learning technologies for both undergraduate and graduate programs. He offered professional development opportunities for PK-12 and school administrators on technology integration, learning strategies, and data analysis and its relationship to student achievement. He has over nearly 40 years of experience working in PK-12 and higher education. He served as a middle and high school teacher, high school administrator, and district administrator in research and accountability and educational technology.

Dr. Caples is also a recipient of the 2014-2015 and the 2017-2018 Gloria A Neubert Excellence in Teaching Award.
