TUTORS Program
The mission of the TUTORS program is to help pre-kindergarten through fifth grade students become more proficient and confident in their reading and math skills. Tutors strive not only to make a difference in the children’s lives, but to acquire teaching experience in city schools and opportunities for community service.
The TUTORS program currently partners with Govans Elementary School in Baltimore City. Towson University tutors are assigned to classrooms in grades pre-K-5, work with children under the supervision of a teacher and assist in the After School STEM program. Tutors work with the entire classroom, in small groups, or with individual students.
Location: Govans Elementary School, Baltimore, MD 21212.
The pay rate is $16.00 per hour for tutoring and travel time. All tutors provide their own transportation.
Application Process: To request more information about the program, email tutors AT_TOWSON.
