Internships
The Center for Professional Practice works closely with students, department chairs, faculty and school district personnel to provide field experiences that will help Towson University’s future teachers become facilitators of active learning for diverse and inclusive populations.
Each teacher candidate who has reached the appropriate level of competency will have a series of progressively responsible field experiences, linked to requirements specific to each program.
TU interns spend a minimum of 100 days over two consecutive semesters engaged in their school community learning to teach and having experiences with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities. Interns are also expected to document mastery of professional standards for beginning teachers through performance-based assessments.
