TU Debate

Towson debate has a long legacy of student excellence, both inside and outside of debate. Our students have won national championships, but we are not only here to collect trophies. A Towson debater models for our debate and academic communities excellent scholarship, integrity in argumentation, passion for justice, and will to succeed in whatever they set to accomplish.

Our students go on to be come lawyers, doctors, teachers, and more. Many of our students also become active in their communities, fighting for a better world.

On the Squad

You can expect an environment that is attentive to and supports the many intersections of identity that our students bring. We explicitly tackle issues of our time and the manner in which those issues affect one another. This kind of space is created collectively: we are conscious of our actions and the effect they have on others.  We act with intention and integrity.

The coaching staff is committed to the team's success. We work with team members in accordance to his or her aspirations, experience and skill level and the balance of our collective resources. We will work to develop your skills and your depth of argumentation.
