Scholarships, Grants & Awards
The EMF Department awards a number of annual scholarships. COFAC and TU offer undergraduate Research and Travel grants.
Scholarship Awards are made in the Spring for the following school year. Award amounts vary (check current application for amount). Deadlines for EMF Scholarships vary, but most are due in February for the following academic year.

The EMF General Scholarship Fund
- Declared EMF Major or Minor
- Based on financial need, academic achievement and/or exceptional talent within a discipline
The Neal Fredericks Filmmakers Scholarship
- Declared EMF Major
- Full-time, entering junior year in fall of award
- GPA of 2.0 or higher
The Barry Levinson Scholarship Fund
- Declared EMF or Pre-EMF Major
- Junior or senior status by fall of award
- 3.0 GPA or higher
- Award based on demonstrated academic achievement
The O’Connor Scholarship
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
award based on merit - Sincere interest in radio broadcasting
- Two awards will be given
The Michael J. Robinson Scholarship Fund
- Declared EMF or Pre-EMF Major
- Award based on merit with financial need a possible consideration
preference given to students who work part-time during the academic year and full-time during summer break - Two awards will be given
The George F. Rogers Scholarship
- Major in journalism, new media, public relations, advertising, or EMF
- Must be a senior when receiving the award
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Major GPA of 3.25 or higher
- non-renewable
The WTMD Scholarship Fund
- Sophomore status by fall of award
- Demonstrated promise for success in the radio profession
- Preference given to students who work or volunteer for WTMD
financial need is a possible consideration
The Jamie Parker Memorial Scholarship
- Open to all EMF students

EMF Department Award
- Multiple awards
- Open to incoming First Year EMF (Pre-EMF) students
- Requires documentation of High School GPA
- 1-3 paragraph statement on what areas of Film/Media/Audio Production you might be interested in or have completed work in already
- One sample of distinctive creative work in which you were a primary contributor (i.e. production or script) OR class essay that you have completed which you feel best showcases your emerging talent and passion for media. (For video work, please include an upload/streaming link; For written work, attachments or Cloud Drive links can be included)

Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry
URCI offers two funding opportunities--the Research Impact Awards and travel grants.
All original scholarly and creative activity appropriate to any discipline at our university is eligible under this program. This includes but is not limited to, for example, research in natural and social sciences, humanities, artistic performances, and works of art. The project must be mentored and supported by a full-time TU faculty member to be eligible for URCI funding.
COFAC Student Travel Support
The College of Fine Art & Communication offers student travel support for activities like presenting in film festivals or conferences. Look of the right sidebar of the COFAC Resources page for the guildlines application.
