Additional Admission Requirements for Jazz/Commercial Composition Concentration
We welcome students interested in majoring in jazz/commercial composition to apply for acceptance to the degree program.
In order to assess your background and better understand your compositional goals, you must complete an audition in addition to submitting the Towson University application and Department of Music application.
Additional Admission Requirements for the Jazz/Commercial Composition Concentration
Candidates for the Bachelor of Music in jazz/commercial composition must display evidence of promise as a creative composer. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in at least one area of performance through an audition in their primary performance area.
Portfolios may be submitted electronically through a file server (WeTransfer, for example), web links, email, or hard copy. Complete portfolios may be sent by email to Jason Rigby (jrigby AT_TOWSON), Dave Ballou (dballou AT_TOWSON) and Mary Ann Criss (mcriss AT_TOWSON). If sending a hard copy, it can be sent to:
