Benefits

All retired faculty and librarians are eligible for certain retiree benefits but membership in TURFA provides for additional benefits that are exclusively for TURFA members.

TU Faculty/Librarian/Staff Retiree Benefits

Towson University's Office of Human Resources recently announced more extensive Faculty and Staff Retiree Benefits that in many ways mimic those benefits previously granted to many categories of retired faculty and TURFA members.  To see those benefits now granted to all University faculty and staff who retired from employment with the State of Maryland, see the university’s Retiree web page.  This page has much useful information.  Scroll down a little until the section heading of RETIREE PERKS, DISCOUNTS, AND BENEFITS.  Here you will find links to these benefits.

The TURFA Benefits and Privileges Committee suggests that TURFA members explore this page in depth, clicking on the areas of interest and concern and digging down for details.  At this time, the committee itself is exploring the details of these perks and what they mean for TURFA members. We will post the specific details as they become available.

Additional TURFA Membership Benefits

Meanwhile, unique TURFA membership benefits continue to include our annual on-campus Fall program, our bi-annual publication TURFA Matters formerly known as The Advocate, Bike Group, Film Special Interest Group, Non-Fiction Book Special Interest Group, access to the national AROHE Matters newsletter, financial support for research and scholarship, access to dedicated space and computers in the Administration Building, access to FACET, Thirsty Thursdays, volunteer opportunities, and special programs and events throughout the year.

TU OneCard

Benefits often require that individuals maintain their TU NetID and TU OneCard. If you no longer have your OneCard, TURFA will help you get a replacement.
