Workday for Benefits
Workday is the State of Maryland’s Statewide Personnel System (SPS) that TU uses to manage health benefits enrollment and elections for faculty and staff. This system is only used for managing State of MD Health Benefits.
What do I use Workday for?
Workday enables TU faculty and staff to:
- Enroll for the first time as a new hired employee (effective date 1st of the month
following date of hire).
Email invite sent to TU email within two to three weeks of your hire date from: shared.services maryland<stateofmaryland@myworkday.com>
noreply@Onelogin.com. Tip: If the link received is expired, click forgot password for a new active link. - Report a life event such as marriage, birth, divorce, death, loss of coverage, etc. (must be reported within 60 day of event). Life events require documentation (see guides and documentation info section below).
- Enroll or make changes during Open Enrollment (effective date January 1st)

Don't know your W Number (State of MD Benefits ID)?
- Go to mytu.towson.edu.
- Select the PeopleSoft HCM tile.
- Sign in using your NetID and password.
- Click the Personal Data Summary tile.
- Scroll down to the Employee Information section.
- Your W number is located beside Workday Benefits ID.

When adding new dependents supporting documentation is required and must be attached to Workday Events.

- Required dependent(s) documentation must be uploaded within your 60 day window.
- Employees can take pictures of the required documentation and upload legible screenshots to the Open Enrollment event OR provide a scanned copy.
- Please reference page 39 of for official documentation requirements. Examples include:
- Children require an Official Birth Certificate. Newborns certificates should be ordered shortly after the birth.
- Spouses require a Certified Copy of the marriage Certificate issued by the court clerk.
This may not be your "original" marriage certificate. Examine the document carefully. They will NOT accept a certificate of marriage:
- That is signed by an officiant (pastor, priest, rabbi, reverend, etc.)
- Dated Prior to the Date of Marriage - For example, a marriage license. Is the word "License" on your document?
- If married outside of the United States and the document is not written in English, it must be translated.
- Official State marriage certificate (must be a certified copy recorded, signed by
the appropriate State or County official, such as the Clerk of Court):
-From the court in the County or City in which the marriage took place; or
-From the Maryland Division of Vital Records for marriages that occurred
at least six months prior to enrollment; or
-From the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) website:
