Residents of the Education Community will connect with other members of the Towson University Community who are interested in pursuing a career in education. This community will provide social and academic support structures to enhance and enrich the experience for residents interested in early childhood, elementary, special, or secondary education. Residents will have the opportunity to participate in shadowing interns to learn about the Education major, connect with students, faculty, and alumni, and complete community service activities. This community is a partnership with the College of Education and Housing & Residence Life.
The community is open to incoming and returning students who have 30 or fewer credits at the end of Fall 2020.
Residents in the Education Community will be registered for EDUC 203- Teaching and Learning in a Diverse Society in the Fall term, and a TSEM provided by the College of Education in the Spring term. Both courses are 3 credits. Please complete and submit your Academic Interest form by the deadline provided by Academic Advising. Classes can’t be assigned until the Academic Interest form has been submitted.

The community will have a Resident Assistant and multiple Liaisons and Role Models. Additionally, there will be support from the College of Education and Housing & Residence Life.
Student rooms are suite style, (i.e., two double rooms sharing a bath).
To be assigned with your roommate in a Living Learning Community, your roommate must also select interest in the Living Learning Community when applying for University Housing and meet any criteria necessary to be a part of the community.
All medical accommodations are submitted through Accessibility & Disability Services.
The Education Community was established Fall 2017 in Tower C.
