Residents of the Theatre LLC will have the unique opportunity to live and learn with peers who share an interest in theatre and to interact with faculty from the Department of Theatre Arts outside the classroom.
The Theatre LLC is targeted toward students who are pursuing a major or minor from the Department of Theatre Arts, but all students who have experience with or an interest in theatre are welcome to apply to the community.
This community is a partnership between the Department of Theatre Arts and Housing and Residence Life.
Any first-year student with an interest in theatre is welcome to apply to the community. However, students with majors and minors within the Department of Theatre Arts may be prioritized at selection.
Students assigned to the community will be enrolled in a common section of THEA 125, Script Analysis. Please complete and submit your Academic Interest Form by the deadline provided by Academic Advising. Classes can’t be assigned until the Academic Interest Form has been submitted.
Current Residents: Applications will be available for the Community Mentor and Role Model positions in mid-February.
Incoming First Year Students interested in the theatre community must complete the online housing request process. This includes agreeing to the terms, payment and conditions of the housing contract. During the online process, students can identify interest in the community.
The community will have a resident assistant, community mentors and role models. Additionally, there will be support from the Department of Theatre Arts and Housing and Residence Life.
Student rooms are suite style, (i.e., two double rooms sharing a bath).
To be assigned with your roommate in a Living Learning Community, your roommate must also select interest in the Living Learning Community when applying for University Housing and meet any criteria necessary to be a part of the community.
All medical accommodation is submitted through Accessibility and Disability Services.
Fall 2024 will be the inaugural semester for the Theatre LLC.
